The correct packet, holder and replacement interval belong to the exact feeder model. A generic packet is not automatically the right size or food-contact choice.

Replacement interval and fit by documentation
| Feeder family | Documented instruction | What remains model-specific |
|---|---|---|
| PETLIBRO Granary 2 Vision | Replace both packs every 14 days, sooner if hard or damp. | Pack count, holder design and regional revision. |
| PETLIBRO Air / One RFID | About every half month; packet smaller than 35 × 20 mm. | Confirm the exact PLAF model and current manual. |
| PETLIBRO Granary Wi-Fi PLAF103 | Official instructions say every 15 days. | Do not assume the same packet count as a newer Granary model. |
| WOPET models with a drying box | Official manuals show where the desiccant is installed. | Use the exact manual for packet size and interval; no universal WOPET interval is assumed here. |

How to replace a feeder desiccant bag
- Pause feeding if the manual requires it, disconnect mains power and set the battery switch as instructed.
- Remove the food-tank lid without tipping the old packet into the kibble.
- Discard the old packet if it is damaged, damp, hard or due under the model’s schedule.
- Check the new packet’s dimensions, quantity and compatibility against the exact manual.
- Place it fully inside the closed holder. Never leave a loose packet where a cat can reach it.
- Close the lid securely and record the replacement date.
Keep every packet sealed until use. Do not rinse it, open it, microwave it or attempt to “reactivate” it unless the manufacturer explicitly instructs that exact product to be regenerated.
What a desiccant bag can and cannot do
A desiccant pack can help manage moisture inside a closed hopper. It cannot make stale food fresh, correct a leaking lid, clean oily residue, prevent every mold risk or make wet food safe in a dry-food feeder. Empty and clean the hopper on the model’s maintenance schedule and allow washable parts to dry completely before reassembly.
If kibble smells rancid, feels damp, shows visible growth or has been exposed to contamination, discard it according to the food manufacturer’s guidance. Replacing the packet is not a repair for spoiled food.
Compatibility checklist before ordering
- Exact feeder brand, model name and model code.
- Holder’s internal length, width and thickness.
- Number of packets used at one time.
- Whether the official manufacturer approves a generic size.
- Food-contact packaging remains sealed and undamaged.
- Current replacement interval for your climate and model.
- Shipping and subscription quantity match real annual use.
When official documentation is missing, ask the manufacturer to confirm the packet specification in writing. Do not choose only by a marketplace photo.
Automatic feeder desiccant questions
How often should I replace a PETLIBRO feeder desiccant bag?
Several current PETLIBRO instructions say every 14 days or approximately 15 days, with earlier replacement when a packet becomes hard or damp. Check the exact model page because packet count and hardware can differ.
Can I use any desiccant bag in an automatic feeder?
Only when the exact manufacturer documentation permits a compatible generic packet and your packet matches the documented dimensions and holder. Do not extrapolate PETLIBRO’s 35 × 20 mm guidance to other brands.
Is a hard desiccant bag used up?
PETLIBRO tells owners of selected models to replace packs sooner when hard or damp. Follow the exact model instructions rather than judging every desiccant material by touch.
Can the desiccant touch cat food?
Keep it sealed inside the designated holder. Do not place a loose or damaged packet in the hopper where a cat or kibble can reach its contents.
