PETLIBRO Granary 2 Series Guide: Which Smart Feeder Fits Your Cat?

Disclosure: MeowBay may earn a commission from clearly identified affiliate links, at no extra cost to you. Ordinary source and manufacturer links are not paid, and editorial conclusions remain independent.

Short answer: choose Granary 2 for gram-level intake tracking at the lowest series price, Granary 2 Vision when video evidence matters for one bowl, and Vision Duo when two independently weighed bowls and multi-pet recognition justify the premium. Granary 2 X is the only series model designed to restrict bowl access, but the official page still showed it as coming soon when checked.

Which Granary 2 model fits?

Model Strongest use What it does not solve
Granary 2 Single-pet portion tracking and proof of eating No camera or pet identification
Granary 2 Vision Video plus intake records at one bowl No selective access
Granary 2 Vision Duo Two weighed bowls with multi-pet visual recognition Cannot physically stop bowl swapping
Granary 2 X Collar-free selective access using AI pet recognition Not yet treated as a live MeowBay recommendation while marked coming soon

Why Granary 2 is the core recommendation

The bowl scale measures food to the gram and records what was dispensed, eaten and left. That makes the benefit concrete: an owner can verify consumption instead of assuming that a scheduled dispense became a meal. The 5 L tank, scheduled mode, refill mode and rechargeable backup support everyday use.

When Vision Duo earns its price

Vision Duo is useful when two bowls need independent intake records and video helps identify which cat approached. It can improve visibility, but it is not the right answer for serious food stealing or different diets because recognition does not create a physical barrier.

Ownership trade-offs

  • All current Granary 2 models are for dry kibble in the documented 2–15 mm range.
  • The scale needs a hard, flat floor and recalibration after the feeder is disassembled and reassembled.
  • Change-detection alerts and video history can depend on PETLIBRO Care or cloud plans.
  • The tank is designed to resist moisture and pests, but PETLIBRO does not describe it as fully airtight.
  • Clean the food path and bowls; replace desiccant as directed.

Bottom line

Granary 2 is the best series value for a single-cat household that wants proof of eating. Vision Duo is the premium monitoring option for two-bowl setups. Neither should be sold as a food-theft solution.
